L-Acoustics has launched its new ARCS product range at Prolight + Sound 2019 in Frankfurt.

The ARCS family comprises four constant curvature enclosures – A15 Focus, A15 Wide, A10 Focus, A10 Wide – and a dedicated subwoofer, KS21. ARCS enclosures offer flexible coverage options, achieving a throw of up to 45 meters and a maximum output of 144 dB.

Mounted on a pole, stacked, or flown in a vertical or horizontal line source array, the new ARCS family comprises modular, plug-and-play ease and international market acceptance.

The A15 and A10 systems are designed to scale to events large and small, from weddings and galas, to the main system for a corporate event, theatre, or mid-size festival stage with KS21 extending low frequency bandwidth to 30 Hz. At large events, ARCS can be used as an effective fill or delay solution as a complement to larger K1 and K2 systems.

The plug-and-play simplicity of A15 and A10 Focus and Wide extends to amplification. The enclosures were designed with LA4X capabilities and 1-to-1 ratios in mind. Each LA4X amplification channel pairs with one A15, one A10, or one KS21. The 1-to-1 ratio extends to A15 and KS21, where one sub is recommended for each A15 enclosure. For A10, the recommended loudspeaker-to-sub ratio is 2-to-1. For further flexibility, ARCS also functions with LA12X amplified controllers.

“The flexibility that can be achieved with this new generation of ARCS is unprecedented,” said Germain Simon, L-Acoustics product manager. “The mounting, stacking, and rigging options, combined with user configurable L-Fins to adjust waveguide directivity, gives users a plethora of permutations to work with. For example, with only two ARCS elements, you can easily achieve 15 different coverage patterns.

“We see the new ARCS line of products as the perfect way to welcome providers into the L-Acoustics rental network,” Simon added. “The versatility and scalability of ARCS is really a ‘choose your own adventure’ scenario that only leads to happy endings. We look forward to seeing new customers approach the live events market in creative ways that allow them to capitalise upon their initial investment quickly and take their rental business to the next level.”

L-Acoustics can be found in Hall 8.0 on booth H85 at Prolight + Sound 2019.

Technical solution specialist White Light has invested in the very latest audio equipment to ensure its clients have access to state-of-the-art technology.

Following the formation of its audio department four years ago, the company has continued to grow its inventory and recently made a significant investment in a range of leading audio products, from manufacturers including d&b, DPA and Shure.

WL’s head of audio Lee Dennison commented: “Ever since we launched our audio department four years ago, we’ve formed a reputation of being able to supply customers with audio solutions bespoke to their needs. Alongside our existing relationships with leading manufacturers, our long-term plan was to start introducing further big brands in year four and ensure we have equipment that is industry-standard and suitable for a range of markets, from theatre to live events to broadcast”.

The recent d&b investment includes speakers from the E, Y and V series. There has been an immediate interest in the d&b range and the systems have already been used on a range of events, including Six Day London at Lee Valley VeloPark, the UNICEF Halloween Ball which featured a live performance by Rita Ora as well as the WWF Living Planet Lecture at Central Hall Westminster.

WL is also continuing its investment in DPA microphone products, including the d:screet CORE 6000 series. Meanwhile, as an Elite Rental Partner for Shure, White Light has further invested in the company’s products, including the new Axient Digital Range.

The d&b, DPA and Shure products are now all available to rent from WL’s hire stock. Dennison concluded: “What this latest investment indicates is our constant desire to pioneer the very latest products and ensure our audio inventory is industry-standard; offering our entire breadth of clients with the best equipment possible.”

Shure UK has awarded the second annual Shure Rental Partner of the Year Award to Cardiff-based Stage Sound Services.

The award was established in 2015 to recognise the efforts and achievements of Shure rental partners across the UK, with the first accolade going to Wigwam Acoustics.

Stage Sound Services received this year’s award in recognition of their commitment and dedication to excellence in delivering the best outcomes for their customers, according to Shure. With particular note to their adoption of new wireless systems, Stage Sound Services have fully embraced the full range of Shure products to deliver ‘exceptional’ results — often under challenging circumstances.

The award was presented to Stage Sound Services MD, Phil Hurley (pictured centre) by Shure UK pro audio group manager, Tuomo Tolonen (pictured right), and Shure UK area sales manager, Stuart Moots (pictured left).

“Over the course of this year, we’ve really seen Stage Sound Services come on board with Shure to deliver first-class results for their customers,” remarked Tolonen. “Particularly in light of the challenging RF environment faced by modern productions, it’s been a pleasure to work in close partnership with such a committed team.”

Hurley added: “It’s an honour to receive the Shure Rental Partner of the Year Award. We’ve developed a strong working relationship with Shure UK over many years, and I look forward to strengthening this further.”

The post 3db receives Middle East’s first Sennheiser Speechline system appeared first on Audio Media International.

]]>

Dubai-based AV-rental company 3db has upgraded its microphone inventory with the latest Speechline Digital Wireless microphone systems from Sennheiser.

The new system is being positioned by the rental firm as the solution of choice for blue chip corporate events and conferences and has already been utilised at the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature (EAFOL) in Dubai, for which speech intelligibility was paramount.

The setup would have required over 60 channels of traditional analogue systems which could have been problematic given the close proximity of the conference halls. However, using the new system, 3db managed to reduce the RF count by 40% which reduced the risk of RF interference.

“The collaboration and assistance we have had from 3db will ensure that the Speechline Digital Wireless product range gets rolled out and progresses to become not just the only wireless microphone system dedicated to speech but the most successful one as well,” said Ryan Burr, technical sales manager at Sennheiser Middle East. “We are very grateful to the whole 3db team for their commitment to this new product range and we look forward to continuing our close relationship with them.”

Commenting on the sale, which makes his organisation the first in the region to offer the Speechline Digital Wireless for rental, James Ghamlouch, head of audio at 3db said, “We’ve found that the system’s clear focus and USP of speech intelligibility is the perfect fit for our customers’ needs. Not just this, the Speechline Digital system boasts automatic frequency management and interference avoidance, which coupled with the fact that it uses the less congested 1.9 GHz frequency range and has a multi-room mode, makes it the complete package.”

He also praised the system’s ergonomic design, and added, “Aesthetics also played a significant part in our decision. We felt the SL Handheld DW was visually appealing, with a striking colour scheme, and was extremely well balanced in the hand. The SL Bodypack DW is compact and sleek whilst the SL Headmic 1 is not only extremely lightweight and unobtrusive but feels far more robust than other options on the market.”

These features are backed up by Sennheiser’s ‘Control Cockpit’ maintenance and monitoring software which gives technicians full control of the system and visibility into a range of parameters including battery health, available devices, and devices in use. Other noteworthy features of the system include advanced 256-bit AES encryption, up to 15-hour battery life, USB recharging, and automatic volume adjustment.

Prolight + Sound: Hibino invests heavily in Coda AiRAY https://audiomediainternational.com/prolight-sound-hibino-invests-heavily-in-coda-airay/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=prolight-sound-hibino-invests-heavily-in-coda-airay Thu, 07 Apr 2016 12:46:00 +0000 http://audiomediainternational.com/2016/04/07/prolight-sound-hibino-invests-heavily-in-coda-airay/ The Japanese giant's sound division placed a large loudspeaker order at this year's event, increasing its inventory of boxes from the brand to over 300.

The post Prolight + Sound: Hibino invests heavily in Coda AiRAY appeared first on Audio Media International.

]]>

Japan’s Hibino Sound Division has placed a substantial order for Coda Audio’s AiRAY line array system at Prolight + Sound 2016, increasing its holding of boxes from the brand to over 300.

Soon after AiRAY’s launch in July 2015, Hibino Intersound Co. took a close interest in the system based on demonstrations and previous discussions with Coda, as well as the recommendation of Hibino Sound Division’s head of sound, Hiroshi Inoue, who assessed the AiRAY system and was confident that it would offer advantages in scalability and flexibility to the rental company.

Divisional head, Ryoichi Hashimoto agreed with his head of sound and an AiRAY system was ordered for use on a tour by top Japanese artist Shogo Hamada. The system made an immediate and lasting impression – one that was to lead to this significant order being placed this week – according to Coda.

Inoue explained the rationale behind the move: "Firstly, as with all Coda line-array systems, we see that AiRAY achieves very high sound resolution with good separation of each instrument’s sound. Sound shape is maintained over a long distance meaning that the required SPL can be obtained using fewer cabinets. AiRAY’s functionality is also excellent for both flown and ground stack applications – cabinet angles can be quickly and easily adjusted for both. I think AiRAY is the only system that offers such great sound quality in combination with so many practical advantages."

Head of Hibino Sound Division, Ryoichi Hashimoto was equally enthusiastic: "It is really striking just how much power AiRAY produces from such compact cabinets and the comments from our clients about sound quality have all been very positive. The clarity and SPL for such a compact system is remarkable. AiRAY’s size means that it has significantly less effect on audience sight-lines and the fact that it is so light means that it reduces the impact of weight restrictions when the system is flown.

“From the point of view of a rental company it is really important to stress that in terms of trucking, AiRAY takes up something like two-thirds of the space of previous systems, meaning fewer trucks on the road and therefore very significant cost savings. Added to this, the lightweight and flexible nature of the system means that fewer crew are needed for transport and set-up, so again, more costs are saved. These obvious advantages made this large additional order for AiRAY a very easy decision."

Coda sales and marketing director Paul Ward added: "We are genuinely delighted that Hibino has chosen to make this very sizeable investment in AiRAY. They are clearly confident in the system’s capacity to address applications right across the touring market and they are certainly well-placed to judge its credentials. For Coda, this represents another ringing endorsement of AiRAY on the global stage."

Adlib announces EFX Audio acquisition https://audiomediainternational.com/adlib-announces-efx-audio-acquisition/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=adlib-announces-efx-audio-acquisition Wed, 18 Nov 2015 11:25:00 +0000 http://audiomediainternational.com/2015/11/18/adlib-announces-efx-audio-acquisition/ Liverpool-based rental specialist believes move will provide a platform for the firm to further grow its business in Scotland.

The post Adlib announces EFX Audio acquisition appeared first on Audio Media International.

]]>

Adlib has acquired Scottish rental firm EFX Audio.

The move follows Adlib’s 25 years of close business relationships with the country’s artists including Texas, Del Amitri and Gun, along with their management and promoters.

Andy Dockerty, Adlib’s MD and Texas’ FOH engineer until 2014, recalled: "I remember mixing my early Texas shows in Scotland and being extremely impressed with the way the EFX sound systems were presented. They set the standards in Scotland and had a huge part to play in how Adlib developed during the early nineties. It is a true ‘benchmark’ company. The opportunity to develop this company further and continue the amazing work of industry legend Johnny Ramsay was too big an opportunity to miss.”

Since opening a Scottish office last February under the stewardship of Graham Cochrane predominantly to support its sales and installation clients, which include numerous restaurants, Adlib has supplied audio for the Main Stage at T in the Park 2015 and installed an L-Acoustics Kiva system into the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, among other achievements.

The success of Adlib’s Scottish office so far suggests there is scope for considerable investment – in both equipment and infrastructure – for further development. Adlib hopes the acquisition of EFX will provide a platform to grow its business in the region and service clients to a high standard.

EFX is currently looking at relocating from Bathgate and purchasing warehousing in the Glasgow area. Significant investment in additional stock will include a 24-box L-Acoustics K2 system and a wider range of consoles from the likes of Digico, Soundcraft and Avid. “The additional kit will provide our clients with considerably more options without having to go further afield," remarked Cochrane.

It has also been taken as an opportunity for Adlib to expand its team: “We are delighted to confirm that Steph Fleming has also joined Adlib,” confirmed Dockerty, “which provides continuity and enhances the Adlib team in general. Steph and Graham Cochrane at the helm are the bedrock of a solid platform to develop Adlib’s name in Scotland.

"We are hugely excited to see this step become a reality. The intention is to move into the new warehouse in early 2016 and start to rollout of all the comprehensive training opportunities that Adlib currently offers in Liverpool. We want to develop the talents and skills of local engineers and aspiring new ones … and further cultivate relationships with the community of Scottish technicians we already know. We believe the potential opportunities for all are massive."

Wigwam Acoustics has purchased Allen & Heath’s Qu-Pac ultra-compact rackmount digital mixers as the hub of new shout systems, which were used throughout the 2015 festival season.

Wigwam initially purchased two Qu-Pacs but soon purchased a further four. Installed in several new rack shout systems, the Qu-Pacs manage communications between FOH and monitor position on the main stages of many of the season’s top festivals, including the Isle of Wight and the Big Church day.

Qu-Pac is a faderless mixer with built-in touchscreen, front panel soft keys, and iPad remote control. The fully customisable Qu-Control screen can be set up with widgets for channel levels, mutes and assignment switches, and the 15 soft keys allow further customisation.

Wigwam set up combinations of Qu-control touch widgets and soft keys on their Qu-Pac units to handle audio routing, muting and status.

Allen & Heath’s touring manager Leon Phillips explained: “Qu-Pac presents a clutter free interface perfect for the festival environment, while offering all the mixing and processing tools if needed via the touch screen.”

Following the successful use of Qu-Pac at key festivals this summer, the shout systems are being further developed to incorporate Allen & Heath’s ME-1 personal monitor mixers for listening station duties.

The deal will enable existing partner, EKO Music Group, to focus on growth in the MI and retail sector.

“Allen & Heath’s product portfolio is renowned for being diverse, covering the whole spectrum of audio mixers from pro touring to home studio and DJ,” commented Allen & Heath’s area European business development manager, Fred Cresson. “The strategic decision to split representation into two channels will enable our partner companies to expand the brand’s reach in the specialist areas where they excel, and service our customers comprehensively,”

Based in Milan, Exhibo has been established for 50 years and has a wealth of experience in the audio rental, live, and installation fields.
